Your observations stay on your Mac.

MacDelta has no account, cloud sync, advertising or telemetry. It does not send your observed history to Mixout Technologies Private Limited.

Trial edition

The seven-day trial stores its start time, last observed time and expiry state locally in macOS Keychain and a separate trial-state file in Application Support. If only one record remains, or a record cannot be read, recording stops rather than starting a new trial. No account, payment card, hardware identifier or online activation is required. Updating or reinstalling the trial does not restart its period. Paid and gift editions do not use trial state.

What the app records

Application names, versions, identifiers and paths; readable startup definitions; available space; selected folder sizes and measurement metadata; Trash size and item counts; saved snapshots; imported installation records; observed macOS versions/builds; capture gaps; sleep/wake notifications; network-path availability and interface types; Wi-Fi link changes; Bluetooth radio on/off and supported paired-device names and connection events; internal-battery percentage, power source and charging status; effective Low Power Mode changes; visible volume names, mount paths, capacity, filesystem and access mode; display names, resolution, scale, refresh rate and connection/configuration changes; and high thermal-pressure changes received while running. Paired observations may include sleep, charging or Bluetooth connection intervals and thermal-pressure duration. Background-setting details contain only selected safe values, not program arguments or environment values. Optional history includes Homebrew formula versions, diagnostic-report filenames, and fingerprints of explicitly selected configuration files.

MacDelta normally inspects metadata and relevant application/service configuration files. Optional configuration tracking reads explicitly selected local files up to 1 MB to compute fingerprints; it does not save file contents. Diagnostic report contents, display serial numbers, and screen content are not collected. Full Disk Access is broader than the app’s observation scope; MacDelta limits its collectors to configured observations and monitored folders.

Networking, battery, and environment history are enabled by default and can be disabled in Settings. Bluetooth requires macOS permission. Wi-Fi names are optional: enabling them requests separate macOS Location permission. MacDelta does not request or store geographic coordinates. Available Wi-Fi band, channel, security mode, signal and link rate may accompany connection events. IP addresses, browsing history, traffic contents, and Bluetooth hardware addresses are not saved. The app does not scan for nearby Bluetooth devices or control charging.

File, download and clipboard history in v2

Recent Files and Downloads record indexed filenames, paths, timestamps, sizes, content types and available download origins. They depend on Spotlight coverage and access. Application launch and close notifications record app identity and time; foreground/background changes are not retained. Other activity metadata is limited to 30 days and 10,000 records.

Clipboard recording is off by default. If enabled, MacDelta stores supported copied text, URLs, file references, rich text and images up to 1 MB locally, with available source-app information. Existing clipboard contents are not imported. Marked sensitive content and excluded applications are skipped; this cannot detect every secret. Clipboard entries normally expire after seven days (configurable), with pins exempt from time-based expiry. Hard limits of 200 entries and 20 MB still apply. Copy Again writes the selected entry to your clipboard. You can delete entries, disable clipboard recording, or pause recording.

Exports

Export History saves a CSV or JSON file to a location you choose. Paths, device/volume names and recorded Wi-Fi names are included by default; you can switch them off before exporting. Exports can reveal usernames, application names and device names. They leave your Mac only if you share them or save them to a synced location.

Purchase download support

We record paid download attempts with the purchase reference, request time, Mac edition, release version/build, expected archive size and response outcome to diagnose delivery problems. Test purchases are recorded separately. These records contain no private download codes, IP addresses or browser identifiers. Repeated requests count separately; a successful response does not prove the file was saved or installed.

Complimentary downloads

Gift download requests are recorded separately from website statistics. We store the gift identifier, request time, selected Mac edition, app version/build, expected file size and delivery-response status. This helps us check gift-link use and delivery problems. We do not store the full gift token, IP addresses, browser details, device identifiers or recipient identity in these records. A successful response does not prove the file was saved or the app installed.

App updates

Starting with MacDelta 1.1.0, in-app updates require no purchase code or account. Update checks send the app version and a request for your Mac edition to our website. Sparkle system profiling is disabled; your observed history, file contents and hardware identifiers are not sent. You can turn automatic checks and installation off in Settings. We count update archives served by day, app version, build and Mac edition, without customer or device identifiers. Repeated downloads count separately; this does not confirm installation. The hosting provider processes the technical request data needed to deliver updates.

Retention and your choices

Ordinary history has count limits. Named snapshots retain their metadata independently. You can stop monitoring a folder or quit the app at any time. Uninstalling the application alone may leave local Application Support data.

Trial download counts

We keep anonymous daily totals of available trial installer and trial update archive responses, grouped by architecture, version and build. These counts contain no visitor identifiers, IP addresses, browser details, purchase information or app history. Repeated downloads count separately; a response does not confirm a completed transfer, trial start or installation. Totals older than 90 days are removed when new trial downloads are counted.

Website statistics

We collect limited aggregate statistics to improve this website: daily page-view totals, views of the demo and pricing sections, Buy button clicks, checkout page views, clicks to continue to secure checkout, and counts of predefined feature interactions. We use our own website endpoint and private hosting database, not Google Analytics.

Our statistics contain only a date, a known page, an event label, optional predefined category or button labels, approximate country, broad traffic-source and marketing-channel labels, and a combined count. Country is supplied by our hosting provider and may reflect a VPN or proxy. Referring sites and recognized utm_source/utm_medium values are reduced to predefined labels in your browser; full URLs and arbitrary campaign text are never sent to our statistics endpoint. We do not store individual event histories, visitor identifiers, IP addresses, raw referrers, device fingerprints, or browser details in this database. We do not use tracking cookies, connect statistics to purchases, or follow people across sites.

Search text, snapshot names, exported data and desktop app history are never included. Milestones are counted once per page load using temporary memory. Counts are not unique visitors. Aggregate rows older than 90 days are removed when new statistics are recorded.

You can turn statistics off using Analytics preferences in the footer. We store only that preference in your browser, without an identifier. Existing refusals from our earlier analytics setup remain respected, as do Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. We remove the former Google Analytics cookies when you revisit. Data already collected by the earlier Google setup is not transferred to this database.

Hosting and contact

Our website hosting providers process technical request data such as IP addresses, browser details and request times to deliver and protect the site. They may set essential security cookies for abuse prevention. We do not use this information for advertising.

Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for purchases. Dodo processes customer, billing and payment information to complete purchases, calculate and remit applicable taxes, issue invoices, and handle refunds and disputes under its own privacy policy. Our service verifies payment references, product, price, currency, success, refund and dispute status. Earlier Razorpay purchases continue to be verified through Razorpay. We do not store card details or raw payment payloads. We store purchase references, tax totals, billing country or region and the accepted terms version to administer purchases, and the checkout email address to deliver and recover downloads. Purchase records are separate from aggregate website statistics. Checkout temporarily saves a private order-access token in your browser tab so you can return after payment. It does not save your card details or establish payment status. ZeptoMail processes purchase, recovery and product-update emails, including the recipient address and private download link. Recovery links expire after 24 hours. Purchase codes continue to work while the purchase is valid. We use limited, short-lived recovery rate-limit records to prevent email abuse. No hardware identifier or Mac history is collected for licensing. Email links open your email app and send nothing until you choose to send. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the details you include. Our email provider processes these messages, and we retain them as needed to handle your request. Contact us to request deletion, subject to records we must legally retain.
